Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 ounces (75ml) Gin (London Dry Gin recommended)
  • 1/2 ounce (15ml) Dry Vermouth (French, such as Noilly Prat)
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnish: Green olive (pitted) or Lemon twist

Instructions:

  1. Chill your Martini glass well in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes. The colder, the better.
  3. Pour the gin and dry vermouth into the shaker.
  4. Stir well for about 20-30 seconds. If you must shake, do so very briefly (about 10 seconds) and gently.
  5. Strain the mixture into the chilled Martini glass.
  6. Garnish with a green olive on a cocktail pick or a lemon twist (express the oils of the peel over the drink before dropping it in).
