Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup (60ml) freshly brewed espresso (or very strong coffee)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk (or your preferred milk alternative)
- Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare your espresso according to your chosen method.
- Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat, being careful not to scald it. Alternatively, microwave it briefly until hot (but not boiling!).
- Remove the milk from the heat and use your chosen method (whisk, electric frother, French press) to create a thick, stable foam. Aim for microfoam – tiny, velvety bubbles.
- Pour the espresso into your mug. Gently spoon the frothed milk on top, holding back some of the foam.
- Spoon the remaining foam on top to create a thick layer.
- Dust with cocoa powder or sprinkle with chocolate shavings (optional).
- Enjoy immediately!
