Ingredients:
- 2 ounces (60 ml) Rye Whiskey (or Bourbon)
- 1 ounce (30 ml) Sweet Vermouth (Italian preferred)
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- Maraschino Cherry, for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- Place your cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice while you prepare the drink.
- In a mixing glass, add the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice.
- Stir gently with a bar spoon for 20-30 seconds.
- Remove the ice from your chilled cocktail glass (if applicable). Strain the Manhattan into the glass.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
