Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces (60 ml) Rye Whiskey (or Bourbon)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) Sweet Vermouth (Italian preferred)
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Maraschino Cherry, for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Place your cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice while you prepare the drink.
  2. In a mixing glass, add the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters.
  3. Fill the mixing glass with ice.
  4. Stir gently with a bar spoon for 20-30 seconds.
  5. Remove the ice from your chilled cocktail glass (if applicable). Strain the Manhattan into the glass.
  6. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
