Ingredients:

  • Fresh Mint: 10-12 leaves
  • Granulated Sugar: 1 teaspoon (5g)
  • Water: 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Bourbon: 2 ounces (60ml)
  • Crushed Ice: Enough to fill the glass
  • Mint Sprig: For garnish

Instructions:

  1. In the julep cup, gently muddle the mint leaves with the sugar and water until the mint is fragrant and slightly bruised. Don't over-muddle; you don't want bitter mint.
  2. Pour the bourbon into the cup.
  3. Fill the cup completely with crushed ice.
  4. Stir gently until the cup is frosted. Add more crushed ice if needed.
  5. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
