Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces (120ml) Ginger Ale (chilled), or Lemon-Lime Soda (chilled)
  • 1 ounce (30ml) Grenadine Syrup
  • 2-3 Maraschino Cherries, with stem
  • Ice Cubes

Instructions:

  1. Fill the highball glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour the chilled ginger ale (or lemon-lime soda) over the ice.
  3. Slowly pour the grenadine syrup into the glass. It will settle to the bottom, creating the signature red layer.
  4. If desired, gently stir the drink to combine the grenadine and soda for a more uniform colour. Be careful not to over-stir.
  5. Garnish with maraschino cherries. Place them on a cocktail pick or simply drop them into the glass.
