Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 oz (75 ml) Gin (London Dry recommended) or Vodka (high-quality, unflavored)
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Dry Vermouth (French or Italian)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Olive Brine (from a jar of good quality green olives)
  • Green Olives (stuffed with pimento or blue cheese), for garnish
  • Ice Cubes (good quality, made with filtered water)

Instructions:

  1. Place your martini glass in the freezer or fill with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink. (Optional, but elevates the experience.)
  2. In a mixing glass, combine gin (or vodka), dry vermouth, and olive brine.
  3. Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes.
  4. Stir gently but thoroughly for 20-30 seconds. Aim for a slow, circular motion until the glass is well-chilled and the drink is properly diluted. The outside of the glass should feel very cold.
  5. Strain the mixture into your chilled martini glass.
  6. Garnish with 1-3 green olives.
