Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60 ml) Rye Whiskey
- ¾ oz (22.5 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ oz (15 ml) Cherry Heering Liqueur
- 2 Dashes Absinthe
- Lime wheel, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Chill the Glass: Place the coupe or cocktail glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes, or fill it with ice while you prepare the drink.
- Prepare the Shaker: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add the Liquids: Add the rye whiskey, lime juice, Cherry Heering, and absinthe to the shaker.
- Shake Vigorously: Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, or until the shaker is well-chilled.
- Double Strain (Optional): Discard the ice from the chilled glass. Strain the cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer into the glass. For a smoother drink, double-strain through a fine-mesh strainer.
- Garnish (Optional): Garnish with a lime wheel.
