Ingredients:
- Strong Brewed Coffee: 8 fl oz (240ml)
- Whole Milk: 8 fl oz (240ml)
- Sugar: 1 teaspoon (5g) or to taste (optional)
- Vanilla Extract: 1/4 teaspoon (1ml) (optional)
Instructions:
- Brew a strong batch of coffee using your preferred method (drip, French press, etc.).
- Gently heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, or in a microwave-safe mug in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until steaming but not boiling.
- Pour the hot coffee into a large mug.
- Gently pour the hot milk into the mug, aiming for a 1:1 ratio of coffee to milk.
- Add sugar and vanilla extract (if using) and stir well until dissolved.
- Serve immediately. Enjoy your cafe au lait!
