Ingredients:
- 1 loaf (14-16 ounces/400-450g) French or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
- 8 tablespoons (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (15g) fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
- 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the bread in half lengthwise.
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, red pepper flakes (if using), oregano, and olive oil. Mix well.
- Generously spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese evenly over the garlic butter, followed by the mozzarella cheese.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute or two before slicing into individual portions. Serve immediately.
