Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf (14-16 ounces/400-450g) French or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
  • 8 tablespoons (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (15g) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the bread in half lengthwise.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, red pepper flakes (if using), oregano, and olive oil. Mix well.
  3. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese evenly over the garlic butter, followed by the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute or two before slicing into individual portions. Serve immediately.
