Ingredients:
- 2 ounces (60 ml) freshly brewed espresso (or very strong coffee alternative)
- 8 ounces (240 ml) whole milk (or plant-based alternative)
- Optional: 1-2 teaspoons simple syrup or your preferred sweetener (honey, maple syrup, sugar)
- Optional: Sprinkle of cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish
Instructions:
- Brew the Espresso: Prepare your espresso using your preferred method. Aim for a rich, concentrated shot.
- Heat the Milk: Heat the milk gently in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, OR microwave for 1-2 minutes, checking frequently to avoid boiling.
- Froth the Milk: (This is where the magic happens!) Electric Frother: Follow manufacturer's instructions. Handheld Frother: Immerse the frother in the warm milk and froth until doubled in volume, creating fine bubbles. Jar Method: Pour warm milk into a jar, seal tightly, and shake vigorously for 30-60 seconds until frothy. Remove lid and microwave for 30 seconds to stabilize the foam.
- Combine and Serve: Pour the espresso into your mug. Gently swirl the frothed milk to combine the foam and liquid milk. Slowly pour the milk into the espresso, holding back some of the foam. Spoon the remaining foam on top.
- Garnish (Optional): Sprinkle with cocoa powder or cinnamon. Add sweetener to taste, if desired.
