Ingredients:
- 2 cups (475 ml) Whole Milk
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 2 tablespoons (25g) Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional)
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions:
- In the saucepan, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Gently heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and the sugar and cocoa powder have completely dissolved. Do not bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. This helps to meld the flavors together.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract (if using).
- Allow the chocolate milk to cool slightly. Serve warm, or chill in the refrigerator for a refreshing treat.
