Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (475 ml) Whole Milk
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tablespoons (25g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional)
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions:

  1. In the saucepan, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Gently heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and the sugar and cocoa powder have completely dissolved. Do not bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. This helps to meld the flavors together.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract (if using).
  5. Allow the chocolate milk to cool slightly. Serve warm, or chill in the refrigerator for a refreshing treat.
