Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (15 mL)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest, finely grated (5 mL)
  • 1.5 ounces (45 mL) citrus vodka, chilled
  • 0.75 ounce (22 mL) fresh lemon juice (from about ½ medium lemon)
  • 0.5 ounce (15 mL) simple syrup

Instructions:

  1. On a small plate, combine the granulated sugar and lemon zest. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Take a lemon wedge and moisten the rim of the shot glass.
  3. Gently press the rim of the moistened shot glass into the sugar mixture, coating it evenly.
  4. Place the rimmed shot glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes to ensure the sugar adheres well (optional, but highly recommended).
  5. In a cocktail shaker, combine the chilled citrus vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  6. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  7. Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until well chilled.
  8. Strain the Lemon Drop Shot into the prepared shot glass.
  9. Garnish with a small lemon wedge, if desired. Serve immediately!
