Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (15 mL)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest, finely grated (5 mL)
- 1.5 ounces (45 mL) citrus vodka, chilled
- 0.75 ounce (22 mL) fresh lemon juice (from about ½ medium lemon)
- 0.5 ounce (15 mL) simple syrup
Instructions:
- On a small plate, combine the granulated sugar and lemon zest. Mix well and set aside.
- Take a lemon wedge and moisten the rim of the shot glass.
- Gently press the rim of the moistened shot glass into the sugar mixture, coating it evenly.
- Place the rimmed shot glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes to ensure the sugar adheres well (optional, but highly recommended).
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the chilled citrus vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
- Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
- Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until well chilled.
- Strain the Lemon Drop Shot into the prepared shot glass.
- Garnish with a small lemon wedge, if desired. Serve immediately!
