Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces (115g) fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 4 medium lemons, juiced (about 1 cup/240ml juice)
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup, agave, or your preferred sweetener to taste)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel and roughly chop the fresh ginger.
  2. Juice the lemons, removing any seeds.
  3. Combine the chopped ginger, lemon juice, water, and optional cayenne pepper and turmeric in a high-speed blender. Blend until completely smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth-lined colander into a bowl or pitcher. Discard the solids.
  5. Stir in honey (or your preferred sweetener) to taste. Start with 1 tablespoon and add more until desired sweetness is achieved.
  6. For a cooler, more refreshing shot, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (optional).
  7. Pour into small glasses or shot glasses and enjoy!
