Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups frozen berries (such as mixed berries, peaches, or cherries)
- 1 medium frozen banana
- 1/2 cup maximum liquid (dairy milk, oat milk, or coconut water)
- Optional: Greek yogurt (for protein and creaminess)
Instructions:
- Pour your liquid base (milk or water) into the bottom of the blender jug. If you are adding yogurt, protein powder, or sweeteners, add them now. If using greens (like spinach or kale), drop them in next and blend on a low speed for 10 seconds to fully incorporate them into the liquid base.
- Carefully load all the frozen fruit, ensuring that smaller items (like berries) settle around the larger, denser frozen banana chunks. Maintain a tight liquid-to-solid ratio to ensure maximum thickness.
- Secure the lid tightly. Start the blender on a low setting for 5 seconds to get the blades moving, then immediately jump to the highest power setting. Blend continuously. The goal is to see a consistent 'vortex' flowing down toward the center blades.
- The blend should take 30–60 seconds. If the flow stops (due to thickness), turn off the blender, scrape the sides with a rubber spatula, and use the tamper (if available) to push the frozen material firmly toward the blades. Only add liquid one tablespoon at a time if the blender refuses to move after tamping. Pour out the dense, velvety mixture immediately and serve.
