Ingredients:

  • 24 Italian ladyfingers (savoiardi), about 3 inches long
  • 1 cup (240 ml) strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa) or Marsala wine (30ml)
  • 8 ounces (227g) mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, cold
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (approx. 15g)

Instructions:

  1. Combine cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (or Marsala) in a shallow dish.
  2. In a large bowl, beat mascarpone, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, forming soft peaks. Be careful not to overbeat.
  3. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring it's soaked but not soggy.
  4. Spoon or pipe a dollop of mascarpone cream onto each dipped ladyfinger.
  5. Top each cream-topped ladyfinger with another coffee-soaked ladyfinger, creating a sandwich.
  6. Arrange the tiramisu bites on a platter and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the cream to set.
  7. Just before serving, dust the bites generously with cocoa powder.
