Ingredients:

  • 6 cups frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries), slightly thawed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup whole milk

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the thawed mixed berries, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Stir until the berries are evenly coated.
  2. Pour the berry mixture into the prepared 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it in an even layer.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the berry filling, covering the entire surface. Try to avoid clumps.
  4. Slowly and evenly drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix. Make sure all of the cake mix gets dampened by the butter.
  5. Pour milk over the mixture.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berry filling is bubbling.
  7. Let the dump cake cool slightly before serving. The filling will thicken as it cools.
