Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup (60ml) strongly brewed coffee (Cuban coffee preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) of granulated sugar, or to taste (optional)
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk

Instructions:

  1. Prepare a strong cup of coffee using your preferred method.
  2. Warm the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Don't let it boil! Or microwave for 1-2 minutes.
  3. If desired, froth the warm milk using a milk frother or immersion blender.
  4. Pour the brewed coffee into your mug. Add sugar (if using) and stir to dissolve.
  5. Gently pour the warmed milk into the mug. Aim for a ratio of roughly 1 part coffee to 4 parts milk, adjusting to your taste. Now you have cafe con leche.
  6. Serve Immediately. Enjoy while it's hot!
