Ingredients:
- 4 cups (946 ml) Water
- 2 inches (5 cm) Fresh Ginger Root, peeled and thinly sliced (about 2 ounces / 57 grams)
- 1/2 Lemon, juiced (about 1-2 tablespoons)
- 2 tablespoons Honey (or Maple Syrup/Agave for vegan option), or to taste
- Optional: Pinch of ground turmeric, a few black peppercorns, a cinnamon stick
Instructions:
- Peel and thinly slice the ginger root.
- Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan (or kettle).
- Add the sliced ginger to the boiling water. Reduce heat to a simmer.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the ginger flavor to infuse. (Add spices at this stage if using)
- Remove from heat and strain the tea into mugs, discarding the ginger slices.
- Stir in the lemon juice and honey (or desired sweetener) to taste.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
