Ingredients:
- 40 oz Apple Pie Filling (2 cans)
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp Ground Allspice (optional)
- ½ cup Caramel Sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- 1 box (15.25 oz) Yellow Cake Mix
- ½ cup Unsalted Butter, melted
- ½ cup Milk
- Vanilla Ice Cream or Whipped Cream (optional)
- Chopped Pecans or Walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the apple pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice (if using). Stir well to combine.
- Pour the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the apples.
- In another mixing bowl, stir together cake mix, melted butter, and milk until just combined. The mixture will be thick and crumbly.
- Evenly sprinkle the cake mix mixture over the apple filling, covering as much surface area as possible. Don't worry if there are some gaps.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle with extra caramel sauce, top with ice cream or whipped cream, and sprinkle with nuts (if desired). Serve warm.
