Ingredients:

  • 40 oz Apple Pie Filling (2 cans)
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp Ground Allspice (optional)
  • ½ cup Caramel Sauce, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) Yellow Cake Mix
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter, melted
  • ½ cup Milk
  • Vanilla Ice Cream or Whipped Cream (optional)
  • Chopped Pecans or Walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the apple pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice (if using). Stir well to combine.
  3. Pour the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the apples.
  4. In another mixing bowl, stir together cake mix, melted butter, and milk until just combined. The mixture will be thick and crumbly.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the cake mix mixture over the apple filling, covering as much surface area as possible. Don't worry if there are some gaps.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges.
  7. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  8. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce, top with ice cream or whipped cream, and sprinkle with nuts (if desired). Serve warm.
