Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200 g)
- 1 cup water (240 ml)
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks (depending on desired strength)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, 5 ml)
Instructions:
- Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan.
- Add cinnamon sticks to the mixture.
- Heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally.
- Bring to a gentle simmer; reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- Strain syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove cinnamon sticks.
- Optional: Stir in vanilla extract, if using.
- Transfer syrup to a heat-resistant container or bottle.
- Store in the fridge for up to one month.
