Ingredients:

  • 250ml (1 cup) freshly boiled water
  • 1 green tea bag (high-quality, like sencha or dragon well)
  • 1 slice (approx. 1/4 inch thick) fresh ginger root, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1 lemon slice, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Bring fresh water to a boil in a kettle.
  2. Place the green tea bag and ginger slice in your mug. Pour the boiling water over the tea bag and ginger.
  3. Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
  4. Remove the tea bag, gently squeezing out any excess liquid. Discard the tea bag.
  5. Stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  6. If desired, add honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar to taste. Stir well to dissolve.
  7. Garnish with a lemon slice, if desired.
  8. Sip and enjoy your zesty, warming elixir.
