Ingredients:
- 4 ounces (115g) fresh ginger root, peeled and roughly chopped
- 2 medium oranges, peeled and segmented
- 2 medium lemons, peeled and segmented
- 1/2 cup (120ml) water (more if needed)
- 1-2 tablespoons raw honey, to taste (or maple syrup for vegan)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
- Pinch of black pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- Peel and chop the ginger. Peel and segment the oranges and lemons.
- Combine all ingredients (ginger, oranges, lemons, water, honey, and any optional boosts) in a high-powered blender. Blend until completely smooth.
- Place a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag over a bowl. Pour the blended mixture through the sieve/bag, pressing down with a spoon or spatula to extract all the liquid. Discard the pulp.
- Taste the strained ginger shot. Add more honey or water to adjust the sweetness or consistency to your liking.
- Pour the ginger shot into glass bottles or jars. Refrigerate for up to 5 days.
