Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 3-4 cinnamon sticks, broken in half (or 1-2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, adjust to taste)
Instructions:
- In the saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks (or ground cinnamon).
- Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until the syrup has slightly thickened.
- If using cinnamon sticks, carefully remove them with tongs or a slotted spoon.
- Allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring it to a clean, airtight jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator.
