Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 3-4 cinnamon sticks, broken in half (or 1-2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In the saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks (or ground cinnamon).
  2. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until the syrup has slightly thickened.
  4. If using cinnamon sticks, carefully remove them with tongs or a slotted spoon.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring it to a clean, airtight jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator.
