Ingredients:
- 1 cup (227g/8 oz) unsalted butter, softened
- 6 cloves garlic, minced (approx. 2 tablespoons)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (Optional)
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
- Optional pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Gently sauté the minced garlic in a small skillet over low heat with a tablespoon of the butter, until fragrant and softened (about 2-3 minutes). Be careful not to burn it!
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, sautéed garlic (and any remaining butter from the pan), chopped parsley, chives (if using), salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Using a spatula or wooden spoon, mix all ingredients together until well combined and the garlic and herbs are evenly distributed throughout the butter.
- Taste the garlic butter and adjust the salt and pepper to your liking.
- For a firmer butter, chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together even more.
- Serve slathered on warm bread, rolls, or anything your heart desires!
