Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (227g/8 oz) unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced (approx. 2 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (Optional)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • Optional pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Gently sauté the minced garlic in a small skillet over low heat with a tablespoon of the butter, until fragrant and softened (about 2-3 minutes). Be careful not to burn it!
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, sautéed garlic (and any remaining butter from the pan), chopped parsley, chives (if using), salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, mix all ingredients together until well combined and the garlic and herbs are evenly distributed throughout the butter.
  4. Taste the garlic butter and adjust the salt and pepper to your liking.
  5. For a firmer butter, chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together even more.
  6. Serve slathered on warm bread, rolls, or anything your heart desires!
