Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Soy Wax Flakes
  • 1 Wick (with a metal base)
  • 10 drops Cinnamon Oil
  • 10 drops Vanilla Extract or Oil
  • 5 drops Nutmeg Oil (optional)
  • Candle dye chips, red or green (optional)
  • Heat-resistant glass jar or tin can

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Clear and clean your work area. Make sure to have all ingredients and equipment ready.
  2. Melt the Soy Wax: In a double boiler, fill the bottom pot with water and place it on low heat. Pour the soy wax flakes into the top pot of the double boiler. Stir occasionally until completely melted, which should take about 10–15 minutes.
  3. Add Dye (Optional): If youre using candle dye, add it to the melted wax now. Start with one chip at a time until you achieve your desired color.
  4. Incorporate Essential Oils: Once the wax is fully melted, remove it from heat. Add cinnamon oil, vanilla extract/oil, and nutmeg oil if using. Stir well to evenly distribute.
  5. Attach Wick: While waiting for your wax to cool slightly (around 130°F), secure your wick in place by dipping its metal base in molten wax then quickly placing it centered at the bottom of your container.
  6. Pour Wax into Container: Carefully pour the scented wax into your prepared container while holding onto the wick so that it stays centered.
  7. Secure Wick Position: Use a pencil or skewer laid across the top of your jar/container to help keep the wick centered as it sets.
  8. Cool and Set: Allow your candle to cool undisturbed at room temperature for approximately an hour until solidified completely.
  9. Trim Wick & Finish Up: Trim any excess wick down to about half an inch above the surface of your candle.
  10. Cure Your Candle (Optional) - For best results in scent throw when burning, let cure for up to two weeks before lighting.
